About
Louise Shirley
I grew up immersed in nature and have always felt a calling to conservation work. I earned a BS in Ecology & Conservation and traveled the globe as a field biologist before pursuing my MS in Environmental Science.
During graduate school, I taught Environmental Science 101 labs to undergraduates and discovered my love of connecting people to the natural world. I worked in the museum field for over eight years, gaining experience in science communication, environmental education, and interpretation.
Since then, I have helped multiple environmental nonprofits strengthen their communication and connect with their audiences. I love to spark wonder and curiosity through simple, beautiful designs and clear, compelling, accessible language.
I’m fortunate to live in beautiful Bend, Oregon, with my partner and our three rescue dogs. I love to be outdoors as much as possible, where I enjoy swimming, cycling, running, and hiking.
Curiosity
I seek to understand client communication styles and needs, as well as the subject matter and project objectives. I tailor my approach to you and your team to make our collaboration as seamless as possible.
Accessibility
I aim to connect people from all backgrounds to the wonder of the natural world of which they are part. By making science easily understandable and inclusive, we foster a more informed society.
Innovation
I continually seek out the latest approaches to science communication and inclusion.
